Learn how to do the Argentine Tango & Cha Cha with Carolina Dance Partners
Every Wednesday at 12 noon we have a ballroom dance group class at the JB Floyd Community Center North Myrtle Beach and today we continued on with our Argentine Tango studies and finished with the Latin fun dance, the Cha Cha Cha.
On Monday we began with the Argentine Tango basic and today we reviewed the figure and added some sexy foot stylings for the ladies. La Piz or ‘The Pencil’ is a foot spiral that the woman can add to her pattern. This step that we learned today featured the La Piz on the left and right foot, moving clockwise for one version and counter clockwise for the second version, plus the grouping included a Mallette (mallet foot) and an advanced locking action called the ‘Scissor’. It all sounds complicated in writing, so, you are encouraged to come to the group classes to really get the idea.
Next, we moved on to the Cha-Cha and that is where we got involved with our lead and follow skills, and, sharpening up our timing, placing the steps right on the beat.
We will do some more Argentine Tango in future classes.
Wow! Argentine Tango! I would love to learn that!
